October 5. A day we have celebrated for four years. This was the day that Brandon and I exchanged our marriage vows in front of friends and family. This was the day where we first got the idea to change our careers and build our own business. And now, we have another reason to celebrate this day – our first-born child, Oscar Wynn Smith. He was born October 5, 2011 at 6:28pm, weighing in at 8lbs. 13oz. measuring 21″ long.
The entire labor and delivery process went incredibly well. As I anticipated, Brandon was cracking jokes throughout the entire process, keeping me laughing – even between those final contractions (queue Brandon saying, “Baby, I’m sorry, but it looks like he has my hair line.”)! We feel very fortunate that we were surrounded by an amazing doctor and an incredible team of nurses – I will sing their praises to anyone! Oh, and I definitely want to high five the person who came up with the epidural! 🙂
There are multiple reasons why October 5 is a day to celebrate. But we want to be sure that it’s not just on October 5 that we celebrate, but every.single.day.
It’s been quite an adjustment, becoming parents. And now, one month later, we are trying to make that adjustment into becoming working parents. So, I do apologize for the delay in posting our clients’ photos – they’re coming! We are so grateful to have such amazing clients, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
FYI: Oscar has his own blog now. It’s oscarwynn.com. It’s still being tweaked, but is up and operational. All future photos, videos, and general wonderingments of our little guy will be posted there. Enjoy!
